Crunching meaningless numbers is far easier than business.I love how developers focus so much on App Store analytics and ASO, which are the last things they should focus on.Thanks to @MatManferdini for this great work: https://t.co/FHdFfFxwWU And to @daveverwer for the link

@sijmen unfortunately I never looked into that, so I cannot recommend anything.Moving view controller methods into an extension in a separate swift file does not reduce your massive view controller. It just hides code. Please stop trying to shove Java into Swift. Thank you.

@ratkins yes. I think I wrote it in the article. I wrote that quite some time ago, so I don’t remember. @ratkins Stuff like date for matters and the likes. @andyeb I guess it’s just Xcode fixing those conflicts by itself, since it knows more about those files. My impression is that doing git pulls from Xcode seems to generate less conflicts on project and interface files. Someone else has the same?Granted, that just scratches the surface, but it’s a good start.Devs keep asking Apple for technical solutions, but Apple just gave them what they really need: business advice https://t.co/IOiCY7jaje

@vasile23 @refindcom Looks nice, thanks.Radical idea: consider the App Store to be just for delivery and start to treat your app like a real business where nobody owes you anythingOn other news, indie devs today are complaining about something Apple is rumored to be doing. What a surprise.Since the acquisition @Delicious has been terrible, which by now is for too long. Anybody has a better alternative?

Unfortunately the success stories are along the same lines. I wrote an app, I got featured and I made a lot of money. Which does not help.I forgot the magical beast to appease in the apps business: The Press. Customers? Who cares? @sla_shalafi Yes. Not a sound one though ;)All the talks around App Store business are about monetization models, ASO and other tactics. Never about sound business strategies. Many devs blame App Store search, lack of upgrade pricing, bad app economy or the race to the bottom for their failures. Never themselves.I keep seeing post from Indies along the lines “I made an app and it didn’t sell”. I never see sound business approaches, though.

@daniel_a_a look especially at number 2: when a homeschooling father with poorly designed apps does better than indies”, we should reflect @daniel_a_a other examples: 1. https://t.co/PfnOKAJyfu 2. https://t.co/9NXkfbIL2g 3. Jeremy Olson @daniel_a_a TomTom doesn’t though. Nor does Squla, a previous client of mine. Or Omni. Or even you. ;) @daniel_a_a not only. Is https://t.co/cBeLkbkxGh a startup? Is McDonald? ING? They just don’t sell the app. But companies like TomTom do. @daniel_a_a this might be. I still didn’t see anybody with a sound business approach either proving or disproving this though. @daniel_a_a look at how many iOS development jobs there are around. With such a big demand, how can be the economy be so bad? @daniel_a_a If many are coming to the App Store, it’s because it’s econo is not bad. Knowing how to make money in it is of course different @daniel_a_a And finally, the “absurdly creative business models and marketing strategy” are pretty standard ones and not creative at all. @daniel_a_a And isn’t this what people said about the web as well? Still, many businesses thrive. https://t.co/2NFfhB25ON @daniel_a_a I think the author fails to realize that “deteriorating app economy” and “crowded marketplace” contradict each other.Since @delicious was acquired, the experience was extremely downgraded. It’s now confusing to use and half the times does not work.

@cdbeshore Wether the Bilt will benefit is a matter of positioning, but I guess it will. @cdbeshore I think the opposite. It will probably bring many new buyers into the market of electric cars, which is still small. @ratkins look how low Apple brought our expectations …

Great to see that @Flixel is pricing their iOS app at the right price. I hope that is going to be the new trend: https://t.co/PNZBTM2T8hI wonder if Google showed the most lack of taste when they created the Mic Drop button or when they blamed a bug: https://t.co/baITWcOEfRMy point for a while: if you want to make money, you need a business approach. Just writing an app is not enough: https://t.co/eLPWjwhml0Xcode got to version 7.3 and still can’t refactor Swift code. At this point I am not holding my breath for Xcode 8.

@daniel_a_a Based on the answers, make the guide or course. @daniel_a_a write an email to your subscribers and ask “what are struggling the most with regarding time tracking and productivity?” @daniel_a_a the email Course sounds good, but I would not spend that much time before knowing what people are interested in @daniel_a_a I would remove the discount though and change it with some bonus instead. Add value instead of lowering the price. @daniel_a_a Much better than before! It could still be improved, but that’s a more complex discussion on copywritingIf the iOS 9.3 update broke links in Safari and other apps, this fixed it for me: https://t.co/pLXOmKDy59

@chriseidhof @natashasgodwin ah right. That was Andy Matushack. Sorry, sometimes I type faster than I think. @natashasgodwin Maybe it’s jut me. I like to get to the result as fast as possible ;) @natashasgodwin Indeed. But if you prepare, then you might not have to live code ;) @natashasgodwin I was not talking about him. I enjoyed his first talk on massive view controllers, but he also had to leave out a lot. @natashasgodwin or the failures that usually happen and the inevitable closing sentence “I won’t have time to show all I wanted” @natashasgodwin I guess it is. Personally, I don’t enjoy seeing someone fumbling for 20 minutes to write something he can show me in 5.Developer that live code during presentations have no respect for their audience’s time.
